DAHLONEGA – Two University of North Georgia (UNG) spring athletic teams were given the Team Sportsmanship Award from the Peach Belt Conference the league office announced Friday.

The UNG baseball team under the direction of head coach Tom Cantrell and the Nighthawk women's golf team commandeered by head coach Sierra Campbell were both honored for their sportsmanship with the award.

Cantrell's program has now won the Sportsmanship Award in eight consecutive seasons, the longest streak of any PBC team in any sport in conference history. In total, the program has been given the Sportsmanship Award 10 times in its history.

Campbell's squad earned their fourth Sportsmanship Award in program history Friday. The accolade marks the team's first time winning the award since 2017.

UNG has now earned a total of 31 Team Sportsmanship Awards since joining the conference in 2005. That mark ranks third among all league institutions.
