Three Nighthawks Earn PBC All-Conference Honors
DAHLONEGA – The No. 19 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's tennis team had multiple players named to the 2025 Peach Belt Conference All-Conference Team as announced in the league's release Thursday morning.
Junior Pedro Liborio made headlines as the lone Nighthawk named to the PBC All-Conference First Team. Liborio was selected as a men's singles first team honoree after going 9-4 in the #1 singles position during the regular season. The junior went 4-1 against PBC opponents which included a win over a ranked opponent as well.
Liborio earned multiple conference accolades Thursday when he was also named to the All-Conference Second Team for doubles along with his partner freshman Janos Varga.
Together Varga and Liborio combined to go 9-2 in 11 doubles matches this season. That mark was the best record of any Nighthawk doubles pairing this year. The duo also went 4-1 against conference opponents in the regular season.
Joining Varga and Liborio on the all-conference Second Team was senior Robin Eldin. UNG's #2 singles veteran was named to the PBC All-Conference Second Team after going 7-6 overall and 2-3 in conference matches. This honor comes as the second of Eldin's career as he was also named to the all-conference First Team for doubles last season.
Eldin, Varga, Liborio and the rest of the Nighthawks are preparing for the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Tournament which begins Friday, April 25 in Columbus, Ga. There the third-seeded Nighthawks will face sixth-seeded Augusta to open postseason play. The match begins at 9 a.m.
