UNG Student Athletes Shine On Field And In Classroom
DAHLONEGA – The 2024-25 academic year has produced one of the most successful athletic seasons in the University of North Georgia's history.
The Nighthawks have had nine teams participate in their respective NCAA Championships this season. In the spring, UNG became the only NCAA Division II school in the country to have its baseball, softball, men's golf, women's golf, men's tennis and women's tennis teams qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
While the success on the playing field is easy to notice, the Nighthawks have gone above and beyond in the classroom as well.
For the fourth consecutive semester, all 13 of UNG's athletic teams finished the semester with a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
In total, the Nighthawk athletic teams combined for a 3.2720 GPA in the 2024-25 academic year.
183 student athletes finished with a 3.0 GPA or higher, that's 80.26 percent of Nighthawk competitors. 16 UNG student athletes finished with a 4.0 or better.
The 2024-25 school year has been one of the best both in the classroom and on the field of competition for North Georgia Athletics.
